OBJECTiVE allows you to do the following tasks in ArchiCAD in a much easier way than how you would do them with just the standard tools in ArchiCAD.

Tiling or swiveling ArchiCAD objects in 3D can be painful. For non-pgrammers it means wasing through the jargon of parameters, ROTX, ect... Even then, you still can't select a collection of objeects and simply rotate them about a common axis. OBJECTiVE makes it a natural as the 2D Rotate command built into ArchiCAD: select the objects, pick Rotate, adn you're done!

Rotate Objects in 3D

ArchiCAD's Split tool works perfectly for elements like lines and polygons, but won't touch 3D objects. Although there are workarounds, they are difficult to implement or edit. OBJECTiVE lets you cut in 3D with the same simplicity as ArchiCAD's Split tool, leaving the target objects fully editable and with sensible hotspots.

Split Objects in 3D

Any element drawn with a polygon - slab, fill, roof, etc - can be transformed into a 3D object which can be rotated, split, and stretched like any library part supplied with OBJECTiVE. Unlike other profiling techniques, OBJECTiVE gives you immense control of the orientation and shape of every segment to draw what you want.

Creat Profiled 3D Objects

Detailing often changes as a project develops, and OBJECTiVE has been designed to make this as painless as possible. In order to change and existing profile (in situ), you need only to select a new polygon and an existing profile, and ask OBJECTiVE to make the change. The anchor point ensures the profiles aren't displaced if the proportions are significantly altered.

Edit Object Profiles

Editing a 3D assembly of objects can be much simpler when you view them in the right plane. OBJECTiVE adds two planes to each assembly, notionally a "Plan" and "Model" view. An entire assembly can be sent to a "Plan" view, edited (including the addition or removal of objects), and restored to the correct position in the model.

Edit Objects in Different Planes

OBJECTiVE provides a tool for aligning and distributing objects in the X axis (right/centre/left), Y axis (front, centre, back), and Z axis (top, centre, bottom). When active, groups are treated as a single object. In the example below, the items in a table are aligned left and distributed to have equal gaps between. This tool works in plan, elevation, or 3D.

Align and Distribute Objects

OBJECTiVE brings the section window alive for building and editing the model. New objects placed with the OBJECTiVE tool in section become part of the 3D model, and can be rotated and split in the same way as the Plan view. Even new profiles can be created, placed and edited in section or elevation - all contributing to the 3D model!

Model with Objects in Section

The order of objects displayed in the Floor Plan window doesn't relate to their order in the 3D model, which can make drawings difficult to read. Recording with "Send to Front/Back" is time-consuming and may have to be repeated after editing. OBJECTiVE provides a tool to automatically reorder objects to reflect their true relative levels.
