How it works:

ArchiCAD® Graphisoft©, just like the majority of professional CADs allows one to export into VRML (Virtual Reality Modelling Language). The VRML is a file format for describing interactive 3D objects and worlds. Using a VRML browser the user can explore these worlds, moving around and interacting with the virtual environment. VRML models can be used for collaboration, model checking, work process integration, electronic design review, sales, and marketing with architects, owners, engineers, detailers, fabricators, erectors, contractors, designers.

But the VRML generated by CAD is practically useless for processing in real-time visualization systems. It has a series of drawbacks thus making it unusable.

Vitruvian Studio allows one to run and manage the VRML generated by ArchiCAD to achieve real-time interactive 3D scenes. These 3D scenes are navigable in real-time with all the most well-known vrml-viewers, on computers with standard configuration.

Download Vitruvian Studio.

Export ArchiCAD 3D scene as a vrml file (.wrl).

Open the vrml file into Vitruvian Studio.

Navigate through the scene in realtime.

Edit the scene and interact with it in realtime.

Save the 3D scene for online (offline) viewing.

Optimization - Simple Open-Save operation with Vitruvian Studio improves an ArchiCAD vrml file and reduces its size by 90-95%.

Realtime Editing - Vitruvian Studio allows you to significantly improve the basic scenes getting a real time feedback. It is possible to modify the element properties, set the lighting, elaborate textures and backgrounds, add external vrml files (inline), set the navigating and interaction modes.

Viewing - VRML means best comfortable way of real time viewing: mouse navigation, collision detection, terrain following and gravity, speed control, different navigation modes. VRML allows the use of megascreens, three-dimensional screens, HMD and stereo 3D glasses.

Advanced Visual Properties - Vitruavian Studio allows you to add chromium plated and polished effect to your real-time 3D models.

System Requirements

Operating system: Microsoft® Windows® 2000/XP, Vista®.
Processor: Intel® Pentium 4 or compatible.
Random Access Memory (RAM): minimum of 512 MB.
Display: The 1280x1024 true color mode is recommended.
DirectX 9 compatible graphics card with on-board video memory of 128 MB is recommended.
Web browser: Internet Explorer 6.0 or a later version, Netscape Navigator 8.0 or a later version, Mozilla Firefox 1.5, Opera 8.5 or a later version.

Notes:

Parallelgraphics Cortona® Vrml-client is required (the Installer will automatically install Cortona 5.1).
Microsoft® .NET Framework 2.0 is required. In case you do not have it Vitruvian Studio will ask to install it. You can install .NET Framework 2.0 from Microsoft site.
